VAN ENGLEN FAMILY

Oh, how I love when people surprise themselves.

These gorgeous souls are Angela and Addison, one half of a wonderful family. And like many families, we captured causal and fun jeans and white tops for the first look, with dad Gerry and son Ashton included of course. But when it came to the second outfit change they wanted black and white, a look we call Film Noir; dark, dramatic and absolutely timeless.

Whenever we do a photo shoot, we like to show people a little sneak peek of the back of the camera, and when I showed beautiful mum Angela this image she squealed, "Oh!" Dad just chuckled and nodded. He always knew that his wife was beautiful from the inside out and in that moment she saw it too.

As an artist whenever someone says they like black and white, my heart skips a beat because I know that I get to create something extra magical for them. Sometimes I feel that I was born for creating in monochrome, the way texture shines when colour is hidden, the way eyes shine, smiles are captured and love is shown.

Thank you Gerry for booking a family photo shoot for your wife's birthday. I know she will cherish these images for the rest of her life.
