SNEAK PEEK

This gorgeous and highly talented woman is Lily and this incredible 1880's summer dress is just one of the pieces she has made by hand. Can you believe it?

Last week we got to capture Lily for her second shoot, this time she brought in her latest project an historically accurate dress. All 9 layers of it!

I am in awe of just how creative, patient and fastidious she is to have spent hundreds of hours researching, creating/copying patterns, pre-fitting and then hand-stitching this amazing outfit. (which comes with a matching hat too!)

So it was only fitting to do a heavily vignetted, sepia tones B/W in the awkward poses of the day. P.S. Little known fact; all Sepia (brown/white) images start as black and white prints, they were then bleached either by the sun and time or with chemicals such as potassium ferricyanide, which oxidises the silver within the print turning it tan.
