7 YEARS AGO...

This is Maryanne, I was honoured to photograph her 7yrs ago. From my second little studio space upstairs in the Old Library. (If you think my current space is cosy, you should see the very first one)

Maryanne and this image will always be close to my heart Not just because I got to capture her smile but also because when I showed her the back of the camera she burst into tears of happiness. She was one of the first of many, who finally saw wholeheartedly what everyone see's when they look at them.

It's NOT about the smiles lines, they white/grey hairs, it's not about the way you 'used to be'. It's about the elegant, inspiring and strong woman who is standing here, now, baring her soul and seeing her own brilliance.

And she just summed up what we do so perfectly "More of us women need to be proud of who we are, because a lot of us aren't. We should be." ~ Maryanne
