INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE

Every week I sit at my desk preparing my thoughts on what to write in these posts to you. Something meaningful and not just another ‘salesy’ post. I look up from my computer to see someone taking a phone photo of our popular little quote board and ‘lightbulb’ I thought I’d share it with you too.

So much truth in so few words. We all want to feel like we belong, from the primal need for safety in numbers to having friends and confidants who’ll help when times get tough or kiss our forehead and hug our pains. Our first instinct is to change who we are to ‘fit in’, because if we are the same as them they’ll like us more, right?

And yet to find our sense of belonging, while not lying to ourselves about what we want in life, we need to be around people who want us to be ourselves irrespective of if we are like them. You are enough just by being who you are.

This quote also hit home for me when thinking about our photography. Yes, our style is similar across all our images, and yes everyone will get the same full-service experience. But do I want you to look exactly like everyone else NO! At consultations I ask how you want to be photographed, what you want to wear and if you have any inspirational images you want me to work from. We are guided by you and it’s our job to showcase who you are. Wrinkles, freckles, dimples, and all, to show you you belong.
